The revolutionary Nintendo Wii console

The Nintendo Wii has done surprisingly well in the last couple of years, and sales are of course expected to jump before christmas time. Many predicted (after Nintendo’s disastrous Gamecube console) that the Wii would flop completely - the name had a lot of bad feedback, and it’s nothing like any other gaming console. But it turns out that many people like it. One of the things contributing to its success is the range of Wii Games available. There are several pretty good titles, including the new Zelda game. When you buy a Wii, you usually get Nintendo’s “Wii Sports” collection of games, which includes golf, tennis and more. These are designed to be played mostly with friends and can be a lot of fun.
The thing that really sets the Wii apart is the Wii Remote, which isn’t like any normal controller at all. It is able to detect your own motion and display it on screen. When you move to the right in real life, your character will move to the right on the TV screen. It is able to do this due to motion sensors that come with the Wii console. The controller still has the standard buttons, but the design is just like a rectangle, and you only hold it with one hand. You would think that this would make it very difficult to play Wii Video Games like Mario and Zelda, but it is still possible, and these games are of course selling quite well. You can pick up a Wii and games for a good price at your local game store.
